Adonai Care Centre is a faith-based organisation rooted in compassion and a commitment to transforming lives. Founded by the late Pastors Boycan and Eastlyn Hoffman, the Centre was established to address the pressing needs of orphaned and vulnerable children in the Midvaal area, specifically within Wards 5, 7, and 11 in Sedibeng, Johannesburg.
The journey of Adonai Care Centre began in May 2005 during a Sunday church service, when a young girl approached Pastor Eastlyn and bravely expressed her hunger. This simple yet profound moment sparked the realisation of an urgent need within the community, leading to the birth of a feeding scheme. Initially, the Centre was sustained without external funding, relying solely on the generous grocery donations from the ministry, congregation, and broader community.
Over the years, Adonai Care Centre has forged partnerships with various stakeholders, including the Midvaal Municipality, the Hollard Foundation, Woolworths, and the Department of Social Development (DSD). These collaborations have been instrumental in expanding the Centre's capacity to serve the growing number of children in need. Hollard and Woolworths addressed the Centre's nutritional challenges by providing monthly grocery hampers, enabling the organization to increase its feeding days from two to five days per week. With the support of DSD, the Centre expanded its team of staff and volunteers to meet the rising demand for its services.
As the number of children requiring assistance grew, Adonai Care Centre extended its reach by establishing three feeding centers: Walkerville, Ohenimuri, and Savannah City. Today, the Centre supports and nourishes approximately 500 children collectively across these locations, providing essential care, hope, and a foundation for a brighter future.
Adonai Care Centre remains steadfast in its mission to uplift and empower vulnerable children, offering not only sustenance but also a pathway to dignity, growth, and opportunity.
At Adonai Care Centre, we are dedicated to inspiring the potential within young, vibrant individuals who possess dreams, passion, and hope for a brighter future. As an aftercare drop-in centre, our mission is to empower and transform children holistically—addressing not just their immediate needs, but fostering their growth emotionally, mentally, and socially.
Through unwavering support and guidance, we strive to nurture their resilience, ignite their aspirations, and equip them to face life's challenges with confidence. At the heart of Adonai Care Centre is the belief that every child has the ability to rise above limitations and thrive as a compassionate, capable, and purpose-driven individual. Together, we are building a generation that will inspire positive change and leave a meaningful impact on their communities.

" WE RISE BY LIFTING OTHERS "
Nutrition Support
Adonai Care Centre provides daily nutritious meals to children in need, ensuring they receive essential nourishment vital for their physical and mental development. For many of the children, this is the only nutritious meal they receive each day. The Centre is committed to addressing the dietary requirements of growing children to promote their overall well-being.
Educational Assistance
Our dedicated caregiving staff work closely with children of various age groups and grades, offering assistance with homework, school projects, and other academic needs. This service aims to foster a positive learning environment and empower children to achieve their full potential in school.
Social Skills & Development
Through the efforts of our caregivers, social workers, and volunteers, Adonai Care Centre equips children with essential social skills such as effective communication, the importance of good hygiene, and spiritual growth. These foundational skills help children build confidence and foster meaningful relationships within their community.
Community Support Services
Adonai Care Centre plays a vital role in addressing broader community needs by facilitating extended family placements for orphaned children (fostering), providing school uniforms and stationery to underprivileged children, distributing monthly food parcels to elderly community members, and referring individuals to critical services. These include clinics, the Department of Social Development (for social grants), Home Affairs (for identity documentation), and school fee exemptions.
In Loving memory of our Mom and Dad who dedicated their lives to Ministering the word of God and caring for the children of Walkerville. We salute you.
